MEET DULCE
EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP MOVING YAKIMA VALLEY FORWARD

Hello. My name is Dulce Gutierrez.
I was born in the city of Yakima to a family that migrated to Washington state in the 1970s to work in the agricultural industry. Growing up, I attended Yakima School District schools. I worked as a cashier, a restaurant server, and many jobs in the agricultural sector. I learned a lot from each job opportunity!
I’m grateful to have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington. For seven years, I have worked for the Washington State Labor Council, where I provide support and direct services to union members and their families. I offer immigration services to help people naturalize and become citizens of the United States of America. Between 2015 and 2019, I had the honor of serving on the Yakima City Council as the representative for District 1, in Northeast Yakima.
In my spare time, I love to volunteer in the community and raise donations for charitable issues. I serve on the Executive Boards of local non-profit organizations, including the YWCA of Yakima, OIC of Washington, Planned Parenthood, and Entrust Community Services.
I am fluent in English and Spanish. I enjoy spending time with loved ones, trying new cuisines, and doing adventurous outdoor activities during my downtime.
